SoBigData.it: Italian Research Infrastructure

Overview

The SoBigData.it project aims to strengthen the SoBigData research infrastructure (sobigdata.eu), coordinated by CNR-ISTI, enhancing interdisciplinary research on social complexity by combining data- and model-driven approaches.

SoBigData emphasizes responsible data science, considering ethical values as pillars of reliable use of big data analytics and AI. The infrastructure develops methodologies for FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and FACT (Fair, Accurate, Confidential, Transparent) principles.

Prof. Stilo’s Contributions

  • WP1 Lead (University of L’Aquila): Empowering the Digital Backbone – creating computational nodes connected to the national RI network
  • WP5 National Coordinator: Responsible Data Science and Training – promoting a new generation of data scientists through Master’s, Professional Master’s, and PhD programs, with emphasis on diversity and inclusion
