SERecSys: Second Workshop on Semantics-Enabled Recommender Systems (ICDM 2017)

Workshop at the IEEE International Conference on Data Mining (ICDM 2017), November 18, 2017.

Recommender systems are widely used in different applications to support users in exploring possibly interesting items. To go beyond the use of preferences expressed in the form of ratings, a recent research trend is to analyze item descriptions and enrich the recommendation process with semantic knowledge. There are wide margins for semantic recommenders to advance and lead to new paradigms, such as cognitive recommender systems. This workshop aimed to collect novel ideas in this field and to provide a common ground for researchers working in this area.
